Get Ready!

I'm reminded of the Sam Cooke classic, "A Change is Gonna Come", specifically the line "It's been a long, a long time coming... but I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will". While Sam was certainly referring to much heavier subject matter, we feel our new site is going to significantly change the way our customers interact with us (for the better, we promise).

We're not just talking about a facelift, or a new site for the sake of having a new site. And this isn't going to be grandma's Geocities page --we are talking about a full featured, informative, regularly updated, engaging site. Not useless new features to impress you with our knowledge of cool web tricks (though we do know some cool stuff). Our new site has one focus: better serving our customers. We are going to do this by delivering content, content, and more content.

For the past few months we've worked hard to research and plan a group of features we want to include on our new site. Below are just some of the things you will see in the coming months. Not all of these will be available immediately, but we are actively working on each one listed.

Documentation
We are putting a massive emphasis on documentation. We really want to put more tools in the hands of those that need them. Besides the already available manuals, built-in help system (pressed F1 lately?), and existing online documentation, we are going to provide the following:
  • Videos - We had a fantastic response to the video tutorials we've posted previously. You requested more and we listened! Our new site will debut with an extensive library of new video tutorials to walk you through everything from the latest features to more obscure portions of the software you might not have known existed.
  • Tutorials - Sometimes you don't want to dust off the manuals or call support for help with remembering how to use a specific function of the software. Well soon you won't have to! We are going to offer numerous walk-throughs, online books, and a variety of other tutorials to help you.
  • Wiki - Sometimes a feature or how-to doesn't quite fit in a video or full-blown tutorial. Enter the wiki. Our wiki will be a wealth of information on CMS and eCMS, with articles contributed by those who know - our expert team of support and professional services folks.
Support
Probably the biggest change you will see unfold over the coming months is support. Not only are we going to provide tons of fresh documentation, but we are also going to make the support process much easier and more interactive.
  • Support Requests - As soon as the site rolls out you will be able to submit support requests online! If you have a question, need a change to your site or want to schedule training we are going to make it easier than ever.
  • Previous Requests - We've had customers request the ability to review their previous support requests. Once again - you asked, we listened. In early 2010 we are going to add the ability to review all of your previous support requests and the status on each.
  • Updates - After the main roll-out we are going to make it even easier to be notified of new releases and get them installed.
Our Customers
One of the largest things that separates NewHaven from other software companies is the relationships we have with our customers. To some we are their full IT team and to others we are an occasional resource. We want to showcase some of these relationships. We are going to build a community around our website. This will include a forums, company profiles, links to other resources, etc. We want a place where we can all share ideas and help each other grow.
Professional Services
We have always offered a host of services to our customers. Sometimes there is functionality that would help your business run better and it's not present in the software. Or maybe you saw a whiz-bang feature on another web site and want to know if it could be included on yours. We are going to make contacting and arranging Professional Services even easier with simple online forms and clear documentation.
Other Fun Stuff
Where to begin?? There are so many things we would like to share with you! We think CMS rocks and can do just about anything, but sometimes we need to pull a different gadget out of the toolbox. We use a wide variety of technologies here from small desktop applications to large hosted web solutions. You might like to hear how some of these technologies have become indispensable to us and then see if they could make an impact in your business.
