- Can eCMS help me get more traffic/orders?
- Yes! eCMS has tools that will help you improve your Search Engine positioning, lower your cart abandonment and increase your average order value. In general, you will have more information and that will allow you to make better decisions for your business.
- Is eCMS search engine friendly?
- Yes! eCMS has a navigational structure that will allow search engines to index your entire database. This is a very important feature because if the search engines can not see your products, you will not get placement no matter how much you work on your content.
- Is eCMS reliable?
- Yes! Our application is hosted in an IBM/AT&T Tier-1 Data Center. This provides the highest in security, stability and reliability. If your website needs to be there 24/7/365, this is where you want it to be.
- What happens if my DSL/Cable modem goes down?
- Since eCMS is housed in our datacenter, when you lose your local Internet connection your website is NOT affected. When you regain the connection, CMS will simply reconnect to the website and download any pending orders. Bottom line, your website does not go down!
- Can I use my own designer / web person?
- Yes! One of the great features of eCMS is the ability for you to maintain your existing local developer or in-house IT staff. They can log into the administration area and perform all of the daily tasks that you need them to do. If you do not have a local solution, we have design and production staff and partners who can assist you.

- How customizable is the look of my site?
- Because of our advanced template structure, the look (design) of the website is limit-less. You can create any design you want and the application will still function.
- Can the site help me take phone orders?
- At this time, we do not have a customer service function in the application.
- Can products be in multiple categories?
- Yes! A single product can appear in as many categories and/or sub-categories as you would like. This allows you to create many different paths for the shopper to reach the same product.
- Can categories have sub-categories?
- Yes! Currently, you can have up to three levels of categories (Category/Sub-Category/Sub-Sub-Category). Very soon this will be increased to an unlimited number of categories.
- Can I track orders that come from paid links (Google, Overture, etc.)?
- Yes! Our Referrer Tracking tool is specifically designed to track all forms of leads. With proper planning, you can see the revenue generated from any lead source, online or offline.
- Can I track my position on Google? What about my competitors, can I track their position too?
- Yes! eCMS can track your Google position over time, as well as the position of your competitors. This helps you monitor not only your own SEO (Search Engine Optimization) work but that of your competitors!
- Can I tell how much money I'm making from different sources?
- Yes! eCMS tracks visitors from web links as well as "media codes" all the way through to their visit to the purchase process. Put simply, this allows you to view a report showing revenue, average order size and other information isolated by each individual source.
- Can I run multiple stores?
- Yes! Each eCMS account allows for the creation of any number of separate stores. Each store will have it's own independent design and reporting, and all orders from all stores will flow seamlessly into CMS.
- What is eCMS?
- eCMS is a module that allows CMS users to create and manage online storefronts using CMS. Tools are included to sync orders and inventory, send e-mail blasts, track search engine and media visits and much, much more.
- How does it work with CMS?
- CMS and eCMS communicate regularly using web services to perform a variety of tasks. This connection runs in the background any time a CMS workstation is open in your office. If your web connection goes down, CMS will patiently wait for it to come back up and then reconnect to eCMS to make updates.
- Do I have to re-key my orders?
- No! Re-keying orders is annoying and a waste of time. Don't do it.
- Why do I have to convert my website?
- eCMS is a "hosted application"... it runs in our Tier 1 data center and is always available on the internet. We do this for a number of reasons, but primarily it offers a central way to provide functionality as well as syncing to your local copy of CMS. To maintain this level of functionality using your own hosting account at another provider would be extremely difficult and error prone.
- Can I host my own website?
- How long does it take to convert?
- We have seen customers launch new web sites in as little as two days. Others have taken their time and done it in a few weeks. The general steps involved in a launch are:
- Update product information in CMS and export to eCMS
- Commission a design for your new site and then build out the templates
- Set up shipping tables, e-mail preferences and other configuration information.
- Test and launch
- Can I update the design of my site?
- Yes, if you are familiar with HTML, the language that is used to build web pages. The eCMS templating system hides all the complicated stuff and allows you to work with HTML to change the look of your site and pages.
- Do I need a webmaster to manage my site?
- No, not on an ongoing basis. The only time you need someone with web experience is when you are implementing a new site design using the HTML templates.
- What about wholesale customers?
- eCMS offers functionality specifically for managing wholesale customers, including account creation, special pricing tables and customized ordering.
