CMS Training gives each attendee hands-on experience with setting up and running a company. Each day is a combination of instructor guided walk-throughs of CMS and lots of excercises to help you commit what you've just learned to memory. The 3-day class starts with the setup of CMS, through day-to-day usage, and wrapping up with some of the less frequently used but powerful sections of CMS.
Wednesday: The first day of training begins with a review of CMS configuration, paying special attention to areas that have historically generated questions by many users. We'll then progress into the setup of products and advertising. With the setup of CMS complete, we start really using CMS - beginning with Customer Contact Management section where customer data, contacts, and follow-ups are managed.
Thursday: With the basics in hand, the better part of the second day is spent learning the many options in Order Entry, with a good deal of time interspersed for excercises. Every type of order is covered including back-orders, future ships, gift orders, point of sale, quotes, returns, etc. Now that orders are in CMS, we begin the process of fulfilling them. Fulfilling back-orders/future ships, charge processing and invoice printing.
Friday: The final day completes the fulfillment process with shipping, importing orders, end-of-day charge settlement, and management of the unshipped orders. With order processing complete, we explore the many ways in which you can make the most of the customers you have in your database. This includes learning how to do specific customer selects for targeted mailing/emailing and cleaning your customer list to get it in shape for that mailing. Also in this section: the management of your catalog/information requests and importing/exporting lists. We wrap up the training with a tour of the many CMS reports.
At the end of the three-day training course, you will have obtained a thorough understanding of how to set up CMS and optimize it for your business. We reccommend that at least one person attend from your company, so at the very least we can "train the trainer" and they in turn can help others in your organization get the most out of CMS.
